What’s on tap for fashion in the world of young men these days? For those answers, we checked in with three guys and a girl over in Grand Chute. We figured it best to ask the girl, since most guys don’t see their clothing as a fashion statement, per se.
For the sake of anonymity, let’s name them Lori, Keith, Alex and Dumez.
Here’s the answers to our three or four questions, as we listen to what she had to say about young men and today’s style trends:
What do your three guys wear for fashion?
“Keith wears a plain solid color t-shirt and normal jeans on an everyday occasion. But when we go downtown he’ll wear maybe a plaid button up, jeans and his white Jordan’s.”
“Alex is pretty much the same, they often have the issue of walking out of their bedrooms wearing the same flannel or same black t shirt.”
“Dumez is not that big in fashion at all. He wears comic book t shirts, jeans and his Under Armour hat that he had stitched “Dumez” on the front of it.”
What catches your eye for young men’s fashion statements when you and Keith are out & about?
“This is a hard question for me, personally, because I don’t look at what people are wearing when we go out. I look at their face, and hair and facial hair. Clean cut, but somewhat scruffy.”
What do the young guys you work with wear for fashion?
“We have to dress somewhat nice at work. I see mainly button ups and jeans with dress shoes.”
“On Fridays, that’s a different story. I see anything from band t-shirts, brand name shirts, Company logo wear or just about anything.”
“I don’t work with many men. Us women tend to take over a little.”
Lastly, are there any anti-trends out there and your thoughts on them.
“Anti-trends are the oversized shirts and sagging pants. A guy that wears sunglasses at night—in the bar.”
“Too much blingage on the pants. Chains, DEAR GOD, NO CHAINS.”
